Situated in the gorgeous 4000-acre Hesleyside Estate in the Northumberland National Park, Heather is one of 7 unique and characterful luxury retreats. This is glam even for glamping and commands spectacular views over this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty along with some creature comforts such as a wood-burning stove, en-suite power shower room and flushing toilet.
Heather is featured on George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces and comes equipped with an outdoor bath and a drop-down bed for a child.
Inside the Shepherd’s Hut
If you’re looking for cosy shepherd’s huts then this is the ideal retreat for you. Heather’s rustic interior is crafted from reclaimed oak and insulated with sheep’s wool. Snuggle up in the king size bed or enjoy cooking on the wood burning stove.
Outside the Shepherd’s Hut
Sit back and watch nature’s splendour in the rocking chairs out on the verandah. As night falls enjoy toasting marshmallows on the firepit and since your location is ideal for viewing the starry skies and view the Milky Way through the telescope and stargazing kit that is provided. And if that doesn’t sound opulent enough then maybe seeing a shooting star in the night sky from the comfort of your wood-fired outdoor bath is the height of indulgence.
The Area
Hesleyside Huts, of which Heather is part, is just a stone’s throw from the prestigious North Tyneside valley. Numerous nearby treasures await including walking Hadrian’s Wall, visiting Kielder Observatory, exploring the Northumberland coast or paying a visit to one of the many stately homes. For the more adventurous, there is bike hire and also the famous Hesleyside Beat fishing area only 5 minutes walk away.
Location
Hesleyside is located 7 miles from Kielder Water, 12 miles from Hadrian’s Wall, 18 miles from Corbridge, 19 miles from Hexham and a 45 minute drive from Newcastle.
