The Roost Luxury Glamping

The Roost have two dog friendly, adults only, luxury eco cabins in the heart of the Forest of Dean. They are an oasis of relaxation and nature for guests

Rated as one of the top 15 Great Cabin Getaways in the UK by The Sunday Telegraph, we have also fallen in love with these beautifully bespoke crafted cedar wood cabins, set in 2.5 acres of meadow within a Special Area of Conservation.  Owner Lorraine moved to the Forest of Dean over 30 years ago when she fell in love with a Forester and the natural beauty of the Forest. She has created luxury cabins which are a treat to stay in but also within a magical backdrop onto ancient woodland.

There are two cabins, the Nook and the Nest, with total own seclusion & privacy to be rented individually or also perfect for two couples wanting to holiday together as they are in walking distance of each other.

Inside both the Nook at the Nest at The Roost Luxury Cabins

Both the Nook and the Nest sleep up to two adults and two dogs and are the perfect cabins to make the most of inside / outside living with sweet interiors and hand crafted furniture by local carpenters.

A Wild Wellness Retreat

Lorraine is hard at work creating the most wild wellness retreat – watch this space!

Sustainability at The Roost Luxury Glamping

The Roost ask their guests to buy into the green ethos: Reduce, Reuse, Refill, Recycle. Energy Efficiency is a priority at The Roost and 40% of the electricity is generated through solar panels and battery storage. The cabins are super insulated and also benefit from green, living roofs and wood is sourced locally.

There is an electric vehicle charging point onsite.

In the cabin bathrooms there is Mitcheldean handmade soap – made using the highest quality, naturally derived, cruelty-free ingredients, with 100% natural fragrance. Towels and bedding are made from sustainable cotton, washed in harvested rain water and eco friendly products. Where possible, the kitchen and Little Extras are stocked with local, organic produce.

Much work has been taken to protect the biodiversity of the area; to protect the rare horseshoe bats, owner Lorraine had to ensure there was no light spill on site at night, she also carried out extensive planting of native hedgerows and trees with the creation of a wildflower meadow and a nature pond.

Wildlife at The Roost Luxury Cabins

The cabins are situated within a beautiful two acre meadow with a wild life pond, rich with wild flowers, bordering ancient woodland, with a huge array of wildlife, including the local bird, deer and badger population.
