This truly unique escape is just 10 minutes from Colchester, with a direct route from London Liverpool Street, so is perfect for a romantic weekend to escape London and stay in Heath Hollow Hideaway for a country and seaside retreat.

Inside the Retreat

The woodland mystical charm theme of the retreat stems from the ancient Needle Eye Woods and nature reserve next to the retreat. Inside the retreat, you will find an open plan area with rich interiors, a four poster bed and a copper roll top bath. There is an ensuite bathroom, hidden behind the Super King size bed with a rainfall shower. The sitting room has a gorgeous velvet winged back chesterfield armchair with wood burning stove, working gramophone and floor to ceiling corner windows, which perfectly frame the views outside. There is a fully equipped small kitchen with the all important coffee machine and wine fridge.

The Garden

Double doors open onto a private terrace area, with a sweet sunken hot tub and to the front of the cabin, is a lawn, with overhanging trees with fire fit and swing egg chairs.

The Village

Heath Hollow Hideaway is situated on the edge of the village Layer de la Haye, with two friendly village pubs within walking distance, a local village shop and a popular farm shop, so you can have a relaxing stay visiting the local pub if you’d rather eat out.

The Area

Mersea Islandis a short 10 minute drive away, famous for its pretty beach huts, oysters and fresh fish restaurants. Mersea boating lake is the perfect location for water sports, cold water sunset swims, boating and paddle boarding.

If you need City life, Colchester is also 10 minutes away, with its bars, restaurants and nightlife and of course Colchester Zoo.

Roman River Valley & Needle Eye Woods, quite literally on the doorstep. A magical little forest, steeped in a wide diversity of wildlife and woodland. A designated nature reserve, running through it you will find the roman river.

The Hideaway Heath Hollow is 10 minutes from the main Colchester train station, with a direct route from London Liverpool Street. The cabin has its own private gated entrance for maximum seclusion for free off-road car parking.
