Blue Monkey Cornwall
Blue Monkey Cornwall is a luxurious and dog friendly, 5 bedroom holiday cottage, sleeping up to 10 and just 25 metres from the beach
We can’t believe that we’ve only just come across The Blue Monkey, a traditional and beautifully furnished holiday cottage, ideally positioned in the traditional fishing village of Cawsand in Cornwall. The village is easy to get to and although it feels like its centuries away, is only three miles from Plymouth.
Blue Monkey Cornwall was recently featured by The Sunday Times as “One of the UK’s Best Coastal Cottages” and has fabulous reviews from both new and returning guests.
The cottage in Cornwall is traditionally furnished with a luxury feel and is steeped in history. Its’ name Blue Monkey is a collaboration of names; the first part comes from a village pub known as The Blue Anchor and according to the locals, an old drinking haunt of Lord Nelson. Long ago, the house was also used as the cannon ball store to supply the local fort and the triangular formation the cannon balls made when stacked was known as Monkey.
Blue Monkey is now a well known Cornish Holiday Let with a perfect position both in the centre of the village with three good pubs, cafes and a shop and overlooking the beach. Its both a favourite with adult parties and families of all ages and with a dog friendly beach 25 metres away, it is the ideal dog friendly holiday cottage in Cornwall. Owner Annabel is super organised with lots of local knowledge and offers a bespoke concierge service to all her guests, so is always happy to suggest activities, places to eat and help you work out a plan for your stay here.

Blue Money Location
The cottage is positioned between Cawsand and Kingsand in Cornwall. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, three sandy beaches and a harbourside traditional fishing village, prepare to immerse yourself in relaxed Cornish living. The two villages still retain their colour-washed old cottages and narrow streets, with some lovely pubs, restaurants and shops.
Local Beaches
The three local beaches are Cawsand Beach, Kingsand Beach and The Cleave. Polhawn Fort and Whitsand Bay are just a 10 minute drive away. Cawsand Bay is great for swimming, windsurfing and fishing.
Walkers
This is a perfect location for keen walkers, as the Cornish Coastal path runs straight past your front door. The South West Coast Path follows the coastline past Penlee Point and Rame Head, with its 11th century monks’ chapel and stunning views to the glorious 4 mile stretch of sand and surf at Whitsand Bay popular with beachgoers, surfers, and shore-fisherman.
The Rame Penisular
The area around Cawsand is known as the Rame Peninsula; a beautiful but lesser known area of Cornwall and known locally as ‘The Forgotten Corner’. It still has an isolated feel about it despite being so close to Plymouth. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty with quiet and secluded beaches, glorious walks and scenery.
There is a beautiful selection of historic houses and gardens to explore right on our doorstep.
Things to note

‘Stayed with family including a baby for a week in this outstanding house, large and beautiful rooms equipped with everything you could possibly need. Flowers, wine and welcome groceries awaited us in the huge kitchen, only sad we had to leave after a week and would definitely return. We particularly enjoyed the use of the kayaks and paddle boards. Great food in the Devonport Inn nearby and fabulous coffee and pastries almost next door in The Old Bakery’
