The Nova Dome At The Fold, Herefordshire
An adults-only luxury geodome in the heart of Herefordshire, surrounded by rolling pasture and designed for romantic, off-grid escapes with stargazing, hot tub soaking and uninterrupted countryside views.
Perched quietly among open pasture and winding streams, The Nova Dome offers a chance to step away from everyday life and reconnect with nature at a gentler pace. This striking and unique geodome retreat is the newest addition to the Fold Cabins & Treehouses collection, sitting quietly among grazing sheep, winding streams and wide Herefordshire skies.
Designed as a circular, open-plan space, the Dome feels calming and immersive from the moment you arrive. A large picture window frames views across rolling hills, while the skylight above the sleeping mezzanine invites you to watch the stars from bed – a rare pleasure made even more special by the area’s low light pollution. Entirely off-grid and surrounded by nature, it’s a place where days slow down naturally and evenings are shaped by firelight, fresh air and deep quiet.

The Nova Dome is made for couples seeking space, stillness and time together. Whether you’re planning a minimoon, marking a special occasion or simply escaping for a few days, the setting encourages you to slow down and savour the moment.

Part of The Fold Collection
The Nova Dome forms part of The Fold, Herefordshire – a small, carefully designed collection of rural off-grid retreats created by owner Matt and his family. A large estate of 18 acres of rewilded countryside, the site also includes a Scandi-inspired cabin, a striking A-Frame cabin, and a treehouse overlooking the valley, each tucked around 150 metres apart for privacy and framed by wide views across pasture and neighbouring vineyards.
Like the Dome, these retreats blend innovative design with eco-conscious living. Powered by solar energy, supplied with UV-filtered spring water and built with sustainability at the forefront, they offer an off-grid experience without sacrificing comfort. Wood-burning stoves, hot tubs or outdoor baths, generous windows and bi-fold doors bring the landscape inside, while strong WiFi ensures you can choose how connected you want to be.
The Fold was featured by George Clarke in his 2024 series of Amazing Spaces, recognised for its commitment to design-led, low-impact luxury. With tree planting schemes, compost systems and ongoing plans to create wildflower meadows, the long-term aim is to become carbon neutral – creating a retreat that enhances the land it sits within.
For couples travelling together, returning guests or those choosing between styles, The Fold offers a beautifully cohesive collection – each retreat distinct, yet united by the same quiet attention to landscape, sustainability and comfort.

A Serene Retreat For Switching Off
The Nova Dome is a place to pause, breathe and reconnect – with nature, with each other and with the simple pleasure of doing less. Mornings begin softly here, with light filtering through the dome and views stretching across pasture and sky. Coffee tastes better when there’s nowhere else to be, and the day unfolds at its own pace.
As evening settles, the landscape shifts again. The fire is lit, the hot tub warms, and the wide Herefordshire sky slowly fills with stars. With little light pollution and almost no noise beyond the occasional rustle of wildlife, nights feel expansive and unhurried. Whether you’re soaking beneath the open sky or climbing into the mezzanine bed to watch constellations through the skylight, the experience is immersive without ever feeling staged.
Ideal for couples, minimoons and romantic off-grid escapes, The Nova Dome offers a stay that feels intentional and restorative. It’s glamping that honours its setting – sustainable, simple and deeply connected to the land – leaving you rested, rebalanced and quietly reluctant to leave.
