    Holm, Somerset

A Design-Led Restaurant With Rooms In The Heart Of Somerset

A beautifully restored former bank in South Petherton, offering seven beautifully designed bedrooms above a seasonal, ingredient-led restaurant rooted in provenance and place.

Set in the heart of South Petherton, Holm is a restaurant with rooms shaped by its surroundings, where contemporary design and a strong connection to place come together. Housed within a former bank, the building has been carefully reimagined, with modern interiors sitting comfortably alongside its original character.

At its centre is the restaurant – well-regarded locally and known for its seasonal menus, which change regularly to reflect what’s available. The kitchen works closely with local farmers, growers and producers, creating a menu that is grounded in its setting and guided by the seasons.

Upstairs, seven individually designed bedrooms offer a calm and comfortable place to stay. Each space reflects the same attention to detail, with natural materials, warm tones and a sense of simplicity throughout.

Well-suited to romantic breaks, food-led stays or special occasions, Holm offers a setting where everything is thoughtfully connected – from the food on your plate to the space you’re staying in.

    The Restaurant at Holm

At the heart of Holm is its restaurant, where the menu is shaped by the seasons and the availability of local produce. The approach is ingredient-led, with dishes evolving regularly to reflect what’s at its best at any given time.

The kitchen works closely with local farmers, growers, butchers, gamekeepers and fishermen, creating a direct connection between what’s served and where it comes from.

Breakfast is included with your stay, while evening dining offers a more considered experience – a menu that changes with the seasons, paired with a setting that feels relaxed yet intentional.

Holm is brought to you by the team behind former Brixton institution Salon and South London bistro Levan, bringing a depth of experience that’s reflected in both the food and the overall approach.

    Private Dining & Celebrations

Holm lends itself naturally to smaller gatherings, weddings, and other special occasions, where the focus is on good food, considered surroundings, and time spent together.

A private dining space is available for more intimate celebrations, while the main dining room can accommodate up to 60 guests, with a further 40 seated under cover on the terrace. For larger occasions, the venue can also be hired more fully, creating a cohesive experience that brings together both dining and accommodation.

With seven bedrooms on-site, sleeping up to 14 guests, it allows everyone to stay over – making it easy to settle in and enjoy the occasion without needing to travel elsewhere.

    Dog-Friendly Stays

Holm can be a lovely place to stay with your dog, with plenty of countryside walks nearby and a number of local attractions and pubs in the area that welcome four-legged guests.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the Elm room, offering a comfortable base for those travelling with a companion. An additional cleaning fee of £50 per stay applies.

To help ensure a relaxed stay for everyone, dogs are asked to be kept under control within the building and not on beds or furniture. Guests are encouraged to bring their own dog bed, and to keep an eye on their pet during their stay.

An Ideal Foodie Escape In Somerset

Holm offers a stay shaped as much by the restaurant as it is by the rooms above it. The experience is rooted in the rhythm of the kitchen – seasonal menus, carefully sourced ingredients and a clear connection between what’s served and where it comes from.

Upstairs, the rooms provide a calm, well-considered contrast. Materials, light and layout are all handled with restraint, creating spaces that feel comfortable without excess and easy to settle into.

Together, it forms something cohesive – a place where food, setting and design are closely aligned. Whether you’re staying for a night or marking a special occasion, it’s an experience that feels thoughtfully put together and worth returning to.
