Boatman’s Steps is an enchanting harbourside cottage. Not only has this comfy Cornish cottage just been beautifully refurbished but it’s just a few steps away from the sweetest of beaches, perfect for your early morning swim before breakfast.
Inside the Cottage
This surprisingly spacious cottage has a welcoming log burning living room. The kitchen diner is accommodating and there are three double or twin bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Outside the Cottage
The owners have designed the outside space cleverly with a decked yard with extendable table seating for eight and with a fabulous decked terrace with sofa seating for eight; the perfect sundowner spot and waterside perch for overlooking the harbour.
The Area
Boatman’s Steps is ideal for family and friends. Just a stone’s throw away you have direct access to two beaches, coastal paths and the water ferry to Fowey. From the harbour you can take a longer boat trip to the villages of Polperro and Mevagissy.
For those of you who haven’t been to Polruan in South West Cornwall, this is an ancient and tranquil ancient mariners village known for its artistic and literary connections. There is a historic harbour and colourful houses sheltering on the leeward side of the peninsula, with delicious cafes and Cornish pubs on a picturesque part of the Polperro Heritage coastline. There are also nearby walks along the coastal paths to explore hidden coves and bays too.
Polruan has excellent amenities including two pubs, a convenience store, cafés and other local stores. You can easily catch the ferry to Fowey departing regularly throughout the day so you can make the most of their fantastic shops, restaurants and galleries. Alternatively, head inland to visit the captivating Eden Project.
