    Broich House, originally built in 1812, is situated in the heart of Scotland  giving guests the opportunity to stay in a house with historical significance and to enjoy contemporary luxury. It is easily accessible and is less than a 1 hours drive from both Edinburgh and Glasgow, just in walking distance from the pretty village of Kippen, with it’s own village grocery shop and delicatessen, restaurant and two lovely pubs. At the same time, it is within easy reach of Gleneagles and Loch Lomond, providing the perfect wild Scottish playground at the heart of a 450 acre private country estate.

    Broich House is a 7 bedroom country house sleeping 14 guests, with ensuite bathrooms for every bedroom. There is plenty of entertaining space both inside and out, with a formal dining room, orangery and 2 kitchens with a games room. Outside enjoy the most beautiful one acre Victorian walled garden, with a gorgeously located hot tub and outdoor shower next to a lovely outdoor kitchen and dining area.

    The Countryside around Broich House

    Broich House is surrounded by miles and miles of countryside and views. On a clear day you can see Loch Lomond to the west and The National Wallace Monument to the east.

    Surrounded by beautiful parkland and with stunning views of the Trossachs, Broich House is situated in the heart of Scotland.

    Inside Broich House

    The interior of Broich house is contemporary meets Scottish tradition and it provides a perfect holiday stay. Every room is filled with luxurious furnishings, and has plenty of light and space, bold wallpapers and modern light fittings, contrasting with the stunning plaster work, cornices, and elegant high arched corridors.

    There is plenty of entertaining space both inside and out, with a formal dining room, orangery and 2 kitchens and a games room. Relax by the log fire in the cosy library surrounded by leather-bound books and stocked with board games. There is also a games room with table tennis and a darts board.

    Both the large Victorian dining room and the orangery are able to seat 14. Broich House is self catering, but their team are happy to help you organise a private chef for your stay should you wish, as often parties request this and there is a chef’s kitchen for this purpose.

    The Gardens at Broich House

    Guests enjoy four acres of magnificent gardens, surrounded by parkland and more typical Scottish hillsides.

    There is a glorious Victorian walled garden with 4 acres of mature gardens, featuring a Japanese-style bridge and vast redwoods. Multiple pathways framed by majestic and rare trees provide shelter to the plant collections of its former owner Sir Peter Hutchison, a well respected plant collector.

    The Victorian Walled Garden has a croquet lawn, fabulous outdoor dining for 14 guests and soft seating covered by an oak gazebo alongside a hot tub, shower and outdoor kitchen.

    The local area

    Broich House is only a 15 minute walk from the village of Kippen which has two gastropubs, a grocery store, a delicatessen and two farm shops.

    Local Activities

    Golf: You can’t visit Scotland without playing 18 holes; Gleneagles is only a short drive away and you have lots of other options to choose from with 18 hole courses at local golf courses Aberfoyle, St Fillans, Killin, Stirling, Bridge of Allan, Alva, Alloa and Dollar.

    Shooting: The team at Broich House offer a tailored day’s clay pigeon shooting up on the hill behind Broich House. It’s an exciting drive up the hair-pin bends to the moor in 4x4s and a competitive morning’s clay pigeon shooting is followed up by a feast in ‘the bothy’ with glorious views across the Trossachs.

    Castles: Within a 15 minute drive of Broich is Stirling Castle. The Castle’s history goes back to William Wallace’s victory over the English in 1297. Broich House is also close to some of Scotland’s famous battle sites.

    Walking: Beyond Broich’s fabulous gardens and parkland, you may want to climb the 879 metres up Ben Ledi and The Trossachs are a playground on your doorstep.

    Cycling: Beyond Broich House’s forest cycling routes, you can use Stirling’s Active Travel Hub with 16 local cycle routes. Cycle the quiet country roads surrounding Kippen which lead to destinations including The Lake of Menteith, Loch Venachar and the Duke’s Pass. You can hire bikes from Wheels Cycling Centre and they’ll deliver them to Broich.

    Family Fun: Only a 10 minute drive from Broich House is Scotland’s famous Blair Drummond Safari Park

    Whisky Tasting: The team at Broich House are able to organise a whisky tasting at home.

    The team at Broich are able to arrange a day up the hill with clay pigeon shooting and lunch with spectacular views from ‘The Bothy’. There is also exhilarating cycling through forest tracks and beautiful lochside walks.

    Places to eat near Broich House

    It’s not common in Scotland to find traditional pubs, but Broich House is exceedingly lucky with both The Cross Keys and the Inn, both in local village Kippen. If you don’t want to cook, visit these lovely family-friendly, dog-friendly delicious gastropubs or for a morning coffee and cake, there’s also the RhubarbLime Coffee Shop.

    Local Farm Shops the Woodhouse Farm Shop (1.8 miles) and the Blair Drummond Smiddy Farm Shop (6.6 miles) have restaurants, butchers, fresh vegetables, delicatessen counters and gift shops.
