Overlooking the peaceful Fuchsia Valley with far-reaching views toward Lee Bay, The Old Vicarage is a striking Victorian holiday home that blends period charm with contemporary comfort. Set within 1.5 acres of private gardens, orchard and woodland, this spacious North Devon retreat sleeps up to 15 guests across eight beautiful bedrooms and four bathrooms – perfect for large family gatherings, special occasions, or relaxed group getaways.
Just a few minutes walk from the sheltered beach at Lee Bay and the friendly local pub, this characterful coastal home has elegant interiors, generous reception rooms and dog-friendly accommodation, making it a truly welcoming base for guests of all ages – including four-legged ones.
Inside the Property
There’s plenty of room at the Vicarage for everyone to gather – or find their own quiet corner.
Elegant Accommodation for Up to 15 Guests with 8 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms (there is a maximum of 12 adults in the main house, or a mix of adults and children up to 15. For a party of 15 adults, you may wish to book ‘The Bothy’ for an additional fee, which allows room for 15 adults to stay in comfort at The Old Vicarage.)
- Master Bedroom Suite – Located on the first floor with south-facing views, the master bedroom has a super king-size bed with Hypnos mattress and an ensuite bathroom with bath and handheld shower. There is a mix of antique and contemporary furniture, providing guests with the perfect place to relax at the end of a busy day.
- Cherry Bedroom – Located on the first floor with south-facing views, the second bedroom also features a king-size bed with Hypnos mattress.
- Cazlet Bedroom – Located on the first floor, the third bedroom features a super king-size bed with Hypnos mattress and south-facing views of the Fuschia valley.
- Twin Bedroom – Located on the first floor with west-facing views, the fourth bedroom features full-sized twin beds, perfect for older kids or friends sharing a room.
- Bee Bedroom – Located on the first floor with east-facing views over the garden and driveway, the good-sized Bee Room features a comfortable king-size bed with a shower room next door.
- Bedroom 6 – Located on the second floor in the converted attic, Bedroom 6 features both a double and single bed (sleeping 3 guests), making it ideal for adults travelling with young children.
- Bedroom 7 – The second of the attic bedrooms, Bedroom 7 features both a single bed, and bunk beds (sleeping 3). The bunk beds are ideal for children up to the age of 14.
- The Bothy – A separate annexe and the 8th bedroom. The Bothy can be booked if required, at an additional cost, ideal for those in your party requiring more space or couples seeking privacy. The Bothy is a charming converted Victorian outhouse featuring a king-size bed and wet room. The bedroom has oak flooring and underfloor heating, whilst the wet room has been clad in slate. For the cooler months, there is also a wood burner for additional cosiness. Due to the unique nature of the property, it is not recommended for the elderly or those with mobility issues.
Soft Egyptian cotton linens are provided throughout all bedrooms.

On the first floor, you’ll find:

- Guests staying in the first-floor master bedroom benefit from a private ensuite with bath and hand shower

- Those opting for the Bothy annexe will enjoy a sleek wet room finished in slate with underfloor heating.
All bathrooms are stocked with fluffy towels and luxury toiletries, giving guests everything they need for a truly comfortable stay.

Study: Equipped with a desktop computer, printer, and landline – ideal for those who need to do some work whilst away or for those looking for a quiet moment away from all the bustle.
Utility Spaces: Laundry room with washer/dryer and fridge freezer, plus a well-stocked boot room and outdoor storage for beach gear, wetsuits, and sandy paws.
Outside the Property
Step outside into the 1.5 acres of garden, orchard, and woodland where you’ll discover:

With 1.5 acres of large gardens, orchard and woodland to explore, plus the nearby dog-friendly beach at Lee Bay, there’s plenty to keep tails wagging. An outdoor slate sink and hose make it easy to wash off muddy paws after countryside walks or coastal adventures, and many local pubs and cafes welcome dogs too. Please note that dogs are not allowed on the furniture or in bedrooms.

The property is ideal for families with children of all ages. Younger guests will love the bunk beds, board games, and Nintendo Wii, while the lawn is perfect for garden games like badminton. There’s a baby gate, highchair and plenty of beach gear including buckets and spades to make seaside adventures stress-free. Housekeeping
Small party rates are available low season and the owner will offer alternative lengths of stay on request.
All bookings are weekly (Friday – Friday) in high season, with shorter, 3 day min breaks available from September to June.
