The Farmhouse at Polehanger in rural Bedfordshire, is a beautiful 18th century farmhouse and the perfect holiday home for both a large group of friends or the entire family and it’s dog friendly.

The farmhouse has been simply and beautifully furnished, with a luxury farmhouse style and an exclusive country home perfect for multigenerational holidays and group reunions, with lots of space and things to do for families and friends to make the most of their time together and still be able to relax.

Inside The Farmhouse at Polehanger

This is a wonderful location for house parties with two farmhouse kitchen, an aga for colder months and other lovely reception rooms including a sitting room with wood-burning stove and smart TV and a dining room able to sit all 12 guests.

The farmhouse was originally two cottages, so there is a natural split with one part with 4 bedrooms and the other with 2 bedrooms, which often is a handy layout for grandparents or more than one family holidaying together, to allow much needed family space.

There is great wifi and the kitchens are well equipped for big family and friends dinner parties and for visiting private chefs to enjoy.

Bedrooms with beautiful interiors

The six bedrooms upstairs are all decorated with their own individual look. All have king size beds and cotton linen. There are three separate bathrooms with complimentary toiletries, one with a bath and the other two with showers.

Positioned at the end of a long private and tree-lined driveway, the farmhouse has a lovely big garden with a tennis court and tennis table. The garden spills out onto arable farmland and woodland with many walks onto footpaths taking you across the beautiful Bedfordshire countryside.

The farmhouse at Polehanger is set within 400 acres of arable farmland in Central Bedfordshire, between the town of Shefford and the villages of Meppershall and Campton.

The local area has lots to do with the fabulous market town of Hitchin nearby and less than a 5 minute drive away is Shefford with lots of shops, restaurants and pubs.

It’s good to know that in another part of the farm, there is a fun and lovely luxury cabin set up at The Meadows at Polehanger, so if you’re organising your wedding here, this can sleep up to another 16 guests.

Housekeeping

Check in days are Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Minimum stay is 3 nights during peak times, 2 nights off-peak. It’s always worth contacting the owners because they will be as flexible as they can.

One dog welcome in the farmhouse, if you would like to bring more than one dog, please contact the owner.

Travel to the Farmhouse at Polehanger in Meppershall, Bedfordshire

The Farmhouse at Polehanger is easy to get to by train or by car.

It is only 40 minutes from central London by train – best to get a direct train to Hitchin and then a 15 minute taxi journey to the farmhouse.

It is also just 15 minutes from both the A1 and M1 and 30 minutes from London Luton airport and 1 hours from London Stanstead airport.
