Inside Lavendrye Barn

Recently renovated and launched in October, Owners Sarah and family have lovingly restored The Lavendrye Barn into a beautiful cottage for two, with classic and open plan interiors. It was originally the laundry barn to the main house and many quirky and original features remain. This is a lovely cottage to visit for both a weekend away or for a longer period, as it is well equipped and roomy, with an open plan living and dining area, a beautiful vaulted kitchen and snug with a woodburning log fire, with stairs leading to a unique crafted and glass mezzanine bedroom. There is a modern shower room on the ground floor. The cottage has breath taking views from almost every window.

This is a cottage to be visited all year round; Great in the summer and equally welcoming in winter, with a roaring wood burner for you to enjoy on winter nights.

Lavendrye Barn has a Smart TV with Netflix, Nespresso machine, Bluetooth speaker,  Fire Pit, Barbecue, board games & books. You can also pre order a breakfast hamper filled with local produce, delivered to your door. The owners also offer bespoke upgrades for special occasions and you are able to book treatments with a local holistic therapist who will visit you at Lavendrye Barn.

Outside with views towards the River Severn and the Cotswold Hills Beyond

The Cottage itself has its own large and enclosed walled garden and within this a spoiling wood fired hot tub from January 2025.

Surrounding the main cottage garden are ancient woodland, a fabulous wildflower meadow area to the side of the property and a flower filled walled parterre garden, with foxgloves, roses and hollyhocks.

There are lots of garden and meadow areas to explore and find different spots to relax and enjoy the fabulous views.

Lavendrye Barn is Dog Friendly

The Cottage has a walled garden, so is suitable for guests who would like to bring their well behaved dogs. There are sheep in a nearby field, so dogs need to be used to being around livestock/well controlled. There are no additional charges for dogs, but a maximum of two well behaved dog guests at any time. The cottage has lots of country walks with walking trails leading straight from the cottage.

The Wye Valley in Gloucestershire is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with a rich landscape, many bustling market towns and castles rich in history and an environment perfect for those seeking adventure or to relax.

There is much choice to eat out locally with a choice of cosy village pubs to walk to.

A Cycling & Walking Heaven

The Forest of Dean is famous as the perfect location to enjoy outward bound activities, with miles of hiking routes across the Forest of Dean, many accessible from the end of the garden.

There are also miles of world class cycling trails within the Forest, suitable for all abilities. You are able to bring your own bikes with lockable bike storage at Lavendrye, or it’s super easy to hire bikes locally right next to the cycling trails.

Slow down for a taste of ‘Forest’ life. As you drive up the charming tree canopied farm lane to reach Lavendrye Cottage, you’ll likely be greeted by buzzards soaring overhead; neighbouring sheep peering through the fences and deer grazing.
