The Cabin at The Old Granary

Set in 5-acres of pastureland and private gardens, the newly launched Cabin retreat in beautiful Derbyshire (bookings available from August 2024) is the perfect place to get away from it all and enjoy stunning views across the Peak District, an area of outstanding natural beauty. Even better, the cabin is dog friendly and available for a minimum of 2  night stays.

There is also a 3 bedroom cottage, The Old Granary, at the same location, which you can book together for a larger group or family holiday. Or just book the cabin, which has it’s own separate entrance and garden for total privacy and for those wanting to relax and retreat in the Peak District.

The Cabin

Nestled in a wildflower meadow, this is the perfect romantic retreat for two guests to unwind and be surrounded by nature. The cabin is insulated with sheep’s wool insulation and underfloor heating to make even colder times months in the year appealing.

Inside the Cabin

Relax in your king-size deluxe bed with the simple but luxurious interiors and view the uninterrupted views of the Amber Valley countryside.

There is also a hand crafted and fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom with shower, basin and loo.

Outside the Cabin, On the deck

Relax and make the most of outdoors with a built-in deck for relaxed al fresco meals outside on the deck area. There is an outdoor sunken bath for stargazing and a seating area with fire pit, two lounger chairs with a bistro table and a hammock to relax and watch the world go by across the valley. 

Make the most of the outside bath and watch the sun rise over the valley with your morning coffee.

The cabin has its own enclosed garden area and this space is completely fenced and private from The Old Granary but if required both can be accessed very easily with each other.

Guests receive a welcome pack full of locally sourced essentials for you to enjoy, a basket of logs and kindling will be provided for the fire pit.

The Area

If you want to explore the local area of Derbyshire, there are too many hiking and biking routes to name, along with numerous sites to visit. From museums, mines and caverns, to the wonderful Chatsworth House and local towns and villages that include Matlock and Bakewell, the choice of things to do is so varied.

Thrillseekers can travel to Alton Towers or Gulliver’s Land – and you can gaze across this beautiful part of the world from a cable car at the Heights of Abraham.
