    Lookout Treehouse

    This is set high in the woodland canopy with splendid views of Dartmoor. Reach the treehouse across the rope-bridge, high amongst the canopy. Inside The Lookout Treehouse has a king size bed with wonderful views over the treetops. There is an open plan and light filled sitting room area with sofas and a wood burning stove, with a well equipped kitchen area as part of this space.

    Open your bi-fold doors onto your private treetop terrace with an outdoor jacuzzi bath and large private deck where you can spend many a relaxing evening sitting observing nature’s rich pageant.

    The bespoke treehouse has been built from locally grown and reclaimed timber.

    Black Wolf Treehouse

    Make your way to the heart of the woodland, over the rope bridge and enter this treehouse with wood burning stove and wall to wall windows giving you outstanding views of the woodland and Devon countryside. An outdoor jacuzzi bath and generous deck provide the perfect retreat to soak in the tranquil atmosphere.

    Wake up in the king-size bed for a slow and spoiling morning with coffee and croissant in hand and enjoying the fabulous treehouse views, whether you’re still in bed or relaxing in the sitting room area on velvet sofa in front of the wood-burning stove. There is of course a well equipped kitchen, so that if you don’t want to eat out, it’s a great kitchen to create and have delicious meals in your holiday treehouse retreat.

    Inside The Lookout and Black Wood Treehouses

    Both treehouses are hand-built and lovingly designed by its owners with sustainability and comfort in mind. They both have:

    • Supersized king-size bed with the finest linen
    • Luxurious en-suite bathroom with a walk in waterfall shower, cotton towels, and Faith in Nature toiletries.
    • Wood-burning stove for cosy and relaxing evenings by the fire.
    • Smart TV (including Netflix) & Wi-Fi
    • An equipped kitchen including a Nespresso coffee machine
    • Games, books, maps and binoculars

    Outside Each Treehouse

    The treehouses are situated within 12-acres of private woodland in a hidden valley, deep in the heart of the North Devon countryside, offering the perfect blend of luxury and wilderness.

    Wolf Wood takes its name from the gentle stream that meanders through the woodlands. A trail winds along the path of the stream and there are also several picnic spots where you can stop and enjoy your surroundings. The woodland is also home to many forms of wildlife including birds, deer, and squirrels, making it perfect for nature lovers. Why not step outside and immerse yourself in the serenity of your private outdoor retreat.

    Guests are free to explore the private woodland and stop at one of the many picnic and barbecue areas to indulge in some al fresco dining.

    Both treehouses are secluded ensuring total privacy for you.

    Sustainability

    Owners Sam and Rachel have committed to offering a luxury holiday experience whilst minimising environmental impact.

    Wolf Wood Treehouses have been awarded a Gold Green Tourism Award as an acknowledgment of their sustainability and here’s many reasons why:

    Reducing the carbon footprint of Wolf Wood Treehouses whilst investing in renewable energy solutions in order to become carbon neutral. We maintain and improve the diversity of flora and fauna in the woodland. We also aim to have a positive impact on our local community – supporting local suppliers and tradespeople, and investing in local charities.

    • Over 600 trees have been planted, a wildlife pond has been built with the introduction of new habitats including wildflower meadows, an acre of gorse and scrub areas.
    • There are treehouse mounted solar thermal panels for heating water and a 40kW photovoltaic solar panel system with a net annual electricity output greater than that of the business’ consumption.
    • All treehouses have been built from locally sourced, sustainably grown timber with superior insulation
    • All fire wood is either sourced from Wolf Wood Treehouses own managed coppicing, or locally managed woodland.
    • Cleaning products are environmentally friendly
    • Responsible purchasing with natural beauty products
    • Welcome packs are filled with local produce from local suppliers.

    The Local Area

    While the treehouse may seem like a world away, it’s location is ideal for exploring some of Devon’s most stunning landscapes. If you want to explore a little further, the coast and lovely beaches are in easy reach.

    Wild swimming, pony trekking, cycling are all popular local activities and there are many National Trust properties to visit in the area.

    Here’s a few suggestions:

    • Okehampton – This charming town is just a short 20-minute drive away. You can stock up here for amenities at one of the 3 local supermarkets
    • Dartmoor National Park – Just next to Wolf Wood Treehouses, this beautiful national park is the perfect place for outdoor enthusiasts to explore, offering breathtaking hikes, wild ponies, and dramatic landscapes.
    • North Cornwall and Devon Beaches – There’s a choice of surfing at Bude or the unspoilt beach at Sandymouth. The beaches of Bude are just a 30-minute drive away so you can enjoy the golden sands, an invigorating walk on the rugged cliffs, swim and surf.
    • Lydford Gorge – Offering picturesque waterfalls and woodland walks, the Gorge is the ideal backdrop for a picnic.
    • Bratton Clovelly – Closest village where you can visit the Clovelly Inn for a delicious meal
    • The Granite Way – An 11-mile trail along the older Southern Railway line offering fantastic views of Dartmoor. The trail runs between Okehampton and Lydford and is mostly traffic free – ideal for exploring by bicycle or on foot.
    • Roadford Lake – A picturesque lake in the beautiful Wolf Valley with many activities on offer. Try your hand at the various water sports, relax with a hot drink in the café, or explore one of the many lakeside trails.

    Getting to Wolf Wood Treehouses

    Wolf Wood is located a short distance to the North West of Dartmoor National Park and just outside the pretty Devon village of Bratton Clovelly.

    For approximate timings, it is approximately 3.5 hours from London, 3 hours from Birmingham, 1 hour from Exeter and 2 hours from Bristol.
