Family Friendly Spa Facilities
This is a truly unique spa retreat. Think of staying in a top end luxury family hotel in the Cotswolds, but this one is just for you and your family. Unlike staying in luxury family hotels, you can use the Spa when you like, first thing if the kids are up and after supper using the dimmed pool lights for a romantic dip.
Well Furlong cottage, with generous family rooms sleeping 6-8, is attached to the private spa facilities. So you can wander through, when you like, in warmth and comfort, to use the spa with heated indoor pool, jacuzzi and steam room. The Spa is heated at 30 degrees and is divine. There is plenty of soft seating to relax and chill with a glass of something.
There is also a wonderful Spa Therapist Jennie who comes onsite to carry out your spa treatment and you can book your treatments ahead of your stay with her. Jennie’s number is 07977564105.
The Spa is situated in a beautiful Victorian style building with floor to ceiling windows. It is a generous space designed for relaxing, having fun with the family (with a swimming pool large enough for more serious swimmers too). As for other family-friendly facilities in the pool area, there is also a table football for the kids, but particularly the grown-ups, to get over-competitive. Additionally, there is also access to an outside tennis court and a games room with table tennis, pool and other games for you to enjoy.
Other leisure activities for the whole family
It is easy to see why many families return annually in the school holidays and throughout the year to enjoy these exclusive and unique spa retreat facilities.
It is an ideal and very luxurious base for the Cotswolds, with super-peaceful natural surroundings at the end of a private lane in the small village of Little Comberton. It’s within easy reach also of a multitude of compelling attractions, from the idyllic town of Broadway and the Cotswolds to the southeast to the beautiful countryside of Worcestershire and the Malvern Hills, which lie just a short drive away to the north and west.
There’s something for the whole family just a quick drive away including the fabulous Broadway Adventure Playground, Avondale Miniature Railway, Aztec Adventure & Water Park, Evesham Vale Light Railway, Worcester Woods Country Park and Tiddesley Wood Nature Reserve and Cotswold Vale Alpacca Experience to name just a few.
Visit our collection ‘Well Furlong Cottage & Spa’ for detailed information on the cottage.
Spa and Indoor Pool Safety
With spas that you might get at luxury family hotels, there may be a prohibition on children being in spas since it may disturb the tranquility for other guests. However, here you’re the only guests so you’re at liberty to use the leisure facilities within the following guidelines:
Though there are no Health and Safety laws that set age restrictions on access to these jacuzzis, hot tubs, saunas and steam rooms, there is evidence that young children are less able to control body temperature and more susceptible to heat injury. For this reason, we strongly recommend that for children under 16 you consider the advice proposed here. In addition, we would recommend pregnant women avoid these areas given NHS advice that you can be at greater risk of dehydration and fainting as well as potential pregnancy complications.
Safety in indoor and outdoor pools should always be paramount and all children under 14 must be adult supervised at all times.
If you have children who are interested in spa treatments then we would suggest consulting with our visiting spa therapist as to whether a chosen treatment may be too harsh for delicate children’s skin.
