The Farm at Avebury

Set in the ancient Avebury World Heritage Site, The Farm at Avebury is a family-run working farm with a beautiful collection of self-catering accommodation near Marlborough, Wiltshire. The local landmark, Silbury Hill. The venue itself is a lovely family retreat space run by a lovely family with outstanding reviews and many returning guests, which can only mean one thing; it’s a great place to stay.

Perfect for any group get-together or family celebration, there are six stables, each uniquely designed and offering all the luxuries you expect from a holiday home. This is the perfect location for a multigenerational holiday and a wonderful place for families with small children to experience life on a working farm. The Play Orchard and Play Barn are perfect spots to entertain toddlers to teenagers with toy tractors to table tennis. 

The Stables surround a contemporary landscaped courtyard so you’re all close together, and there are plenty of communal seating areas where you can sit and chat over a coffee or glass of wine whilst you cook up the farm produce on the BBQs provided. In addition to the garden and barbecue facilities, a hot tub is available to hire separately and there is also an EV charger available too.

The retreat stables can be booked individually or, if you’re looking for large holiday homes, booked together for up to 23 guests. This makes the location ideal for large groups like extended family holidays.

The Retreats 

Silbury Hill – sleeps 6 people in 3 bedrooms – two king and one twin. In one king there is an en-suite bath and in the other king and the twin there is a shared shower room.

Long Barrow – sleeps 4 people in 2 king bedrooms. There is an en-suite bath in one and an en-suite shower in the other.

Swallowhead – sleeps two people in one king bedroom with a shower room.

Longstones – sleeps two people in one king bedroom with a shower room.

Windmill Hill– sleeps 4 people in 2 bedrooms, one king and one twin with a shared shower room.

Greyweathers – sleeps 4-6 people in 2.5 bedrooms, 2 kings with en-suite shower rooms and one adventurous double.

Entertaining Space

There is considerable flexibility for dining facilities. There is a large table for al fresco dining and a barn that can seat up to 42 diners for a wedding, convention or celebration. Taken alongside The Barn Kitchen and The Granary providing further dining spaces, it can also be used in a variety of other event space ways such as for a residential yoga retreat or corporate offsite location.

Dog friendly

The farm is dog-friendly and there are lots of walking, running and cycling routes nearby that will get you out in the fresh air and among the stunning Wiltshire countryside. A walking guide is shared with some local favorites.

And for an added treat, you can arrange for produce from the farm to be delivered fresh to your door.
