Located in the beautiful village of Little Comberton with its honey-coloured houses, a handsome church and rolling landscape, this dreamy Cotswold cottage with many period features is nestled in 80 acres of private land. Well Furlong Cottage is a fully modernised cottage complete with three large ensuite bedrooms, super kings or twins, offering flexibility for families or groups of friends.
Well Furlong Cottage itself sleeps 6, with an additional 2 if you book out the games room (twin beds) and accompanying bathroom exclusively for an additional fee, making it a very roomy and fun retreat for 8. (Details on booking page)
In a nearby field, you can also book Well Furlong Shepherds Retreat, which sleeps 2-4 and is a perfect place for grandparents to stay and have their own space.
The Cottage is positioned at the bottom of Bredon Hill near Cheltenham – at the edge of the Cotswolds area of outstanding natural beauty – on the borders of Worcestershire and Gloucestershire. Few luxury Cotswold cottages are as beautifully appointed as Well Furlong with generously proportioned kitchen, reception rooms and three ensuite bedrooms. In addition, the charming cottage has its own large garden, facing out onto fields with stunning views of beautiful countryside.

If you’re comparing luxury cottages, then we think you’ll find our cottage’s specifications hard to beat. The delightful property has a Games Room and Spa complex with an indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi / hot tub & Astro Tennis Court. The Games Room, Pool and Spa are attached to the cottage, so you don’t have to go outside to access them and can come down in your dressing gowns to relax and swim. Should you need this is also a perfect place to work from with strong wifi and peaceful areas.
The Spa Complex and Games Room are shared between the guests in the Well Furlong Cottage and the owners of Well Furlong, who live adjacent. There are no other properties with access to the Spa, which makes it a Unique and Special offering.
A Picturesque Cotswolds Village within Rolling Countryside
Well Furlong Cottage is situated at the end of a long quiet private drive, surrounded by beautiful rolling Cotswold countryside. The local pub is within walking distance (2 miles) in the charming next door village of Elmley Castle. The villages may have Roman origins and with many of the farmhouses and properties dating back to the 16th and 17th century, it is one of the most charming villages in south Worcestershire.

Well Furlong Cottage is perfect as a relaxing base for the Cheltenham Literary and Cheltenham Race Festival. The Cotswolds has much to offer with fantastic walking with Bredon Hill on our doorstep and the Malvern Hills so close. For the more cultured, there are many National Trust Houses to visit including Croome Park and Hanbury Hall. Some of the local Cotswold visits to visit include Broadway, Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the Water and Burford. Bleinheim Palace is approximately a 40 minute drive away.
If you give us details about your group and / or family, we will cater your stay towards you and make every effort to provide extras such as toys, games, baby equipment etc to help you bring less and enjoy your stay more. We are happy to help you organise babysitters, spa treatments etc.
All bedrooms can either be used with twin beds or Super King. All sheets are 300 thread 100% cotton.
As per the house rules, one well behaved dog in the uncarpeted areas per party. Dependent on the make up of the party, we may on occasions allow a 2nd dog but this needs to be approved in writing before you book the property.
This is the perfect place to come and cycle – mountain or racing bikes and we have a secure lock up to keep your bikes.
Finally, although our set up offers something similar to a boutique hotel offering – we are not a hotel and the cottage is part of our home and should be treated as such, we do the cleaning and changeovers ourselves and expect you to leave the cottage as you found it.

The Spa
The Spa is attached to Well Furlong Cottage, so you don’t have to go outside to access it and can come down in your dressing gowns to relax and swim. It is specifically for your use as guests in the cottage and for our family only, there are no other properties with access to the Spa, which makes it such a unique luxury stay!
As the host family have access to these facilities every day, you will find that although we do use the pool to swim, that you as the cottage guests will spend much more time enjoying the facilities and we will leave you to enjoy exclusive time with your family and friends in this wonderful spa setting.
The Spa has an Indoor Swimming Pool heated at 29 degrees and Jacuzzi with plenty of luxurious soft seating to relax and chill with a glass of wine. Because this is exclusive to your party staying in the cottage, you can use the Spa when you like, first thing if the kids are up or after supper for a romantic dip.
A small reminder that Well Furlong Cottage Spa and Tennis Court is exclusively for the Cottage guests with parties of up to 6-8 to enjoy and relax. If you would like to host additional families and friends, then Soho Farm House, which is set up as a Country Club to do just this, is only 40 minutes away.

We try to live our lives and deliver to our guests spoiling and luxury holidays in sustainable and eco friendly retreats with a particular focus for improving and rewilding the small organic 80 acres of private land that we are lucky enough to live in.
We have Green Tourism accreditation and have committed to improving our green initiatives wherever possible at Well Furlong Retreats.

- 2024 initiatives focus around the rewilding possibilities of Well Furlong’s organically farmed land

The nearest shop is in the village of Pershore, 2.3 miles or each Saturday there is a pop-up shop and coffee land rover in the Little Comberton Village hall, approximately 100m away.

The nearest train stations are Pershore – 3.8 miles, 10 mins drive. With hourly trains to London (2 hours), Oxford (1 hour) or Worcestershire Parkway – 6.9 miles, 15 mins drive, with hourly trains to Birmingham (30 mins).
There is secure cycle storage within Well Furlong if required, please inform us if this is required prior to arrival.There are several taxi firms in Pershore / Evesham offering accessible transport locally.
We can accept shopping deliveries from major supermarkets etc by arrangement.
Arrival & Car Parking
Well Furlong is just off the bend of Pershore Road, as you drive past the village Hall we are the third drive on the left through two stone pillars and open wooden gates up a gravel drive.
Well Furlong cottage has a level car park, with a tiled surface directly outside the cottage front door. From the car park into the front door there is a 15cm step into the cottage through a 92cm wide front door.
Well Furlong Cottage
The front hallway is tiled. There is a downstairs guest loo with 80cm wide door and level access off the entrance hall. From the entrance hall there is a 12cm step into the kitchen through an 80cm wide door. The kitchen is also tiled and leads into the ground floor carpeted bedroom, which is level with an 81cm wide door. The top of the mattress is 69cm from the floor. All bedding is 300 thread Egyptian cotton. The kitchen sink tap is lever operated.
The rear garden door is 74cm wide with a 12cm step down 12cm into the grassed garden. From the garden there is a 16cm step up to a gravelled seating and BBQ area. By special arrangement there is direct access to the swimming pool from the BBQ area with an 8cm step through 116cm wide doors. Within the swimming pool area there are two 16cm steps. The swimming pool is tiled. There is flat access into the changing room, shower and loo and there is no lip to the shower.
The sitting room, games room and additional two bedrooms are up a flight of carpeted stairs.
Well Furlong Shepherds Retreat:
Parking is up a farm track with a loose chipping parking area. There is a 75m gravel pathway from the parking area to the Shepherds Retreat. There are 4 x 21cm steps from the gravel path up to the raised decking, that gives access to the front door.
The front double doors can be opened to give a 187cm wide opening, there is an 8cm lip over the threshold of the door.
There is oak flooring throughout the Retreat.
The width of the Single stable style decking door leading directly from the bed area is 88cm.
The living area of the cabin is open plan.
The top of the mattress is 69 cm from the floor.
The kitchen sink tap is a traditional spoked turn handle.
The width of the bathroom door is 69cm
The bathroom floor is also oak boards.
The “lip” into the shower is 2cm.
The bathroom sink taps are a traditional spoked turn handle.
The depth of the step from the decking up to the sunken hot tub is 25 cm.
The hot tub is 63cm deep from the top of the hot tub to the hot tub seat.
All external door handles are lever operated, the internal bathroom door has a traditional thumb lever handle.
All bedding is 300 thread Egyptian cotton.
Outside Space
The Shepherds Retreat is set in an undulating, uncut meadow.
The area immediately around the cabin is kept close mowed and there is a firepit with wooden logs as stools.
